A Love Song
02:12
|

We watched the spark turn into a flame. Our passion ignited, so it shall remain. A sense of pride and a sense of shame; and of the two only one would remain. She opened the door and let me in. In light hearted ecstasy I captured a glimpse and I knew I wanted to remain within. So I opened my heart and I gave it to her, and she held it with care, not knowing what would occur, but we knew that I'd always remain her strangest lover. The world was on fire, no one could save me but you. And shame will stop you from doing all you want to. Dispel all fear and dispel all regret, for all that's done out of love is done for the best. Every kiss that you've given and every embrace is a flaming memory that can't be replaced, and a moment in lockport or a moment in gimli stretches out into calgary and into infinity.

A Parting Song

We knew it from the very start; the bell would sound and I'd depart. And shall we force the hands of time? And shall I hold your heart in mine? But our hands will meet again in some distant place. We'll upturn the hourglass with finesse and grace. And I couldn't speak again for my tongue was tied. The sorrow and longing is what kept me alive. Absence makes the heart grow numb (and many other things at once) until our patience reaches end, by means of that which we surrender. We'd build a wall and then tear it down, and play hide and seek until we're found. The spaces between you and I are no more wide than we describe. But our hearts will meet again in some distant land. We'll upturn the hourglass and I'll take your hand. I couldn't speak again for my tongue was tied. The sorrow and longing is what kept this alive.

A Winter Song

Our frozen fingers clasped so tight turned to red against the white. Let us thrust the dagger down to form a beacon in the ground. The seasons keep changing, the cards rearranging. Snow falls in reverse as I wait for my nurse(s) to call me inside and keep my eyes dry. The fire will crackle and burn through the night. We saw a darkness as the light did fade. We had everything in the world to speak of but nothing to say. We got used to silence, our feelings divided. Our hearts hibernating and for May awaiting.

A Rain Song

A new dawn is fading. An old sun is rising. The mysteries locked in our hearts. There's dew on the green and the spaces between us could never tear us apart. Nothing is broken and nothing is new. Each season entwined. Each feature improved. You heard the whispering. It reminds you of something; the passion or the solitude. The tapestries faded. You cautiously waited. The uncertain sunlight broke through. Something is missing and something is found. The hatchet is buried six feet under ground. A new dawn is fading. An old sun is rising. The mysteries locked in our hearts. There's dew on the green and the spaces between us could never tear us apart.

A Swan Song
03:01

She spread her wings and began to fly to another place, to another time, and landed safely in the lake and caught a glimpse of the day break; the scythe emerging from the sky. She unlocked her throat and closed her eyes and let out a note to dispel the flies. This boat will sink before it would capsize. Follow the star through the trembling seas, observing the power of meandering dreams. Waves rock the vessel that we travel within. Sun rays reflect off the face of the ocean. The storm rolled in after seventy years, and the swan and the captain found themselves in tears. With no shore in sight he lowered the mast; maybe everything that dies some day comes back. The atlantic ocean is a lonesome place to lose a mate for a bird of grace. Yet that which is over had never begun. Beginning and end are together as one.

A Ballad Of Despair
02:41
|
|||
How could she ever love a boy who couldn't understand? Would he ever walk into church with a gun in his hand? A gentle man who thought the world revolved around him. Her heart was patient and her body was covered with scabs. She took him by the hand as he took another stab. A fragile girl who felt all the pain in the world. The apologies of a gentle man with a heart full of love and a gun in his hand, and the tears of a woman who had given her heart to the forest, to the stars, to the man in the dark. The apologies uttered recklessly rang hollow through the trees and the rocks and the leaves, but an angel lifted him and brushed the dirt off his sleeves and he went to the river and he fell to his knees. A helpless man who recognized the killer inside, and realized who he was and began to cry.
